(09/04 11:59:25) Narameh: Shorah Little duke, Olrick, welcome to Heritage night :)
(09/04 11:59:35) DimensionTravelerCalum checks his watch….
(09/04 11:59:38) Olrick140: shorah all
(09/04 11:59:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: In a few moments, let’s let the crowd filter inside some more :)
(09/04 12:00:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Hi everyone
(09/04 12:00:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Welcome to Heritage Night
(09/04 12:01:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: :)
(09/04 12:01:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: Right
(09/04 12:01:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sorry, last moment messages
(09/04 12:01:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: So,
(09/04 12:02:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: First off
(09/04 12:02:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Thanks go to Narameh for ushering :)
(09/04 12:02:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: (cue applause)
(09/04 12:02:26) Ninaelil claps her hands
(09/04 12:02:28) Samoth claps his hands
(09/04 12:02:35) AlexandraLara claps her hands
(09/04 12:02:49) Alien claps her hands
(09/04 12:03:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Secondly, our scheduled host for tonight, Rapacious, had some family matters to attend to, and so could not make it,
(09/04 12:03:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: So wish him and his family luck :)
(09/04 12:03:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Anyways, onto the usual announcements
(09/04 12:03:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: The parking lot has just been invaded by large building block dinosaurs
(09/04 12:04:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: If your car has been squashed by a toy shaped foot, feel free to let the management know
(09/04 12:04:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: And we’ll try to get things sorted out
(09/04 12:04:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Refreshments are in the fountain, and snacks in the classroom
(09/04 12:04:49) AlexandraLara starts to laugh
(09/04 12:04:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: So,
(09/04 12:05:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Onto the subject of this week’s HN.
(09/04 12:05:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: The New Light of Er’cana.
(09/04 12:05:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: I think that’s what the schedule board says
(09/04 12:05:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: -_-;
(09/04 12:05:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: Anyways,
(09/04 12:06:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: this week began with the usual fanfare
(09/04 12:06:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: DRC make an appearance
(09/04 12:06:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: or rather
(09/04 12:06:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Schedule an appearance
(09/04 12:06:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: or some event
(09/04 12:06:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: Via KI mail
(09/04 12:06:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: we opened our KIs to discover that the DRC was activating the Great Zero
(09/04 12:07:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: As a side effect, our KIs had recieved a digital update,
(09/04 12:07:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: We could now make marker missions of our own
(09/04 12:07:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Had we completed the quests
(09/04 12:07:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explorers found the Great Zeros’ activation to be a bit sudden
(09/04 12:07:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: And, with that sudden ness,
(09/04 12:07:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: They felt their hard work collecting Markers went to waste
(09/04 12:08:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: This was an important turning point for the cavern
(09/04 12:08:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Emotions set by this week, and those still lingering from the month before,
(09/04 12:08:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Would set our course to an end.
(09/04 12:09:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: the day after the announcement
(09/04 12:09:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: The GZ plaza chambers were filled by explorers
(09/04 12:09:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: Hood instanaces packed full
(09/04 12:09:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: UO, the hood I belong to then and now,
(09/04 12:09:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Was one of the Largest hoods
(09/04 12:10:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: And it was so full of people
(09/04 12:10:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: You could barely move through the crowd
(09/04 12:10:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Finally, the time came around,
(09/04 12:10:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: The back machines roared into life
(09/04 12:10:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: A nutrino beam launched
(09/04 12:10:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Crystals hummed,
(09/04 12:10:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then,
(09/04 12:10:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Zero spun
(09/04 12:11:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: A blue beam of light swept across the city
(09/04 12:11:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: And explorers rejoiced
(09/04 12:11:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then,
(09/04 12:11:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Our KIs crashed
(09/04 12:11:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: no real reason why,
(09/04 12:11:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: Maybe it was all the static from the GZ
(09/04 12:11:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: Maybe it was from it being turned on?
(09/04 12:12:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: Who knows
(09/04 12:12:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, it was something expected
(09/04 12:12:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: So, expectations were set
(09/04 12:12:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: If the DRC could simply
(09/04 12:12:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: ‘flip a switch’
(09/04 12:12:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: And turn on the GZ
(09/04 12:12:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: Why couldn’t they do that for everything?
(09/04 12:13:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Er’cana and the Watcher’s Pub were opened
(09/04 12:13:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: And explorers were told they could feed the lake by dropping pellets into the lake
(09/04 12:13:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: To facilitate this,
(09/04 12:13:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Laxman set up hood imagers to accept pellet point contributions
(09/04 12:14:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: So that
(09/04 12:14:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: ‘friendly competetion’ would happen
(09/04 12:14:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: The explorers…
(09/04 12:14:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: they didn’t take it seriously
(09/04 12:14:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: Instead of setting up er’canas en-mass for feeding the lake,
(09/04 12:15:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: They instead lounged in the Watcher’s Pub, and watched as famous people came by,
(09/04 12:15:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: and By famous
(09/04 12:15:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: I mean, “DRC related folk”
(09/04 12:15:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper showed up several times, If I recall,
(09/04 12:16:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, the major stopping point by far was Cate Alexander,
(09/04 12:16:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: when ever she showed up,
(09/04 12:16:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: people immediately came to the subject of funding
(09/04 12:16:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: And funding was an issue indeed
(09/04 12:17:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: Apparently
(09/04 12:17:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Funding was getting ‘tight’
(09/04 12:17:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: And so, the subject of advertisement came up
(09/04 12:17:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Billboards in the city? explorers protested
(09/04 12:17:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: Vending machines in the corners of streets?
(09/04 12:18:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: “No.”
(09/04 12:18:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: People didn’t like the idea.
(09/04 12:18:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: I think, personally
(09/04 12:18:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: We were fools
(09/04 12:18:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Even Marie Sutherland, one of the DRC members who was opposed to advertising,
(09/04 12:18:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: Had to admit that it was a possibility to consider,
(09/04 12:19:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Personally, i think if we hadn’t refused it,
(09/04 12:19:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: We might have stayed down here longer that time.
(09/04 12:19:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, who knows
(09/04 12:19:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: I certainly think, though
(09/04 12:20:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: That the whole idea that the DRC could just ‘flip a switch’
(09/04 12:20:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: The idea,
(09/04 12:20:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well,
(09/04 12:20:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: people thought it was going to be like that for everything
(09/04 12:22:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: The thing was, people expected the DRC could just do anything,
(09/04 12:22:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: That they could simply throw a switch
(09/04 12:22:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: With the lake?
(09/04 12:22:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explorers thought the DRC would simply drop a ‘super pellet’
(09/04 12:22:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the lake would, Tadah, be lit
(09/04 12:23:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: the DRC intalled a lake light meter at the lake
(09/04 12:23:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: To show otherwise
(09/04 12:23:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: The machine seemed to be broken, however,
(09/04 12:23:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: And by the next month
(09/04 12:23:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was removed
(09/04 12:23:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: The thing is,
(09/04 12:23:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: The lake lighting iis a continuall process
(09/04 12:23:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: it needs to be fed a steady schedule
(09/04 12:23:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: Up until recently, we had something like that
(09/04 12:24:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: Then people started slowing down,
(09/04 12:24:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the light level’s dropped,
(09/04 12:24:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: down to how it was a few months ago, actually.
(09/04 12:24:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: The constant flow that it needs to keep living needs to be constant
(09/04 12:24:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: and, even though we see that today
(09/04 12:24:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: We were too short sighted to see it then
(09/04 12:25:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: we thought we would see results in days
(09/04 12:25:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Instead
(09/04 12:25:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s taken YEARS
(09/04 12:25:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: years just to get it to brighten,
(09/04 12:25:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: And now it’s dimming again?
(09/04 12:25:39) DimensionTravelerCalum shakes his head
(09/04 12:25:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s saddening, in a sense,
(09/04 12:25:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, if we could have seen the future then,
(09/04 12:26:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: I doubt we would have even changed.
(09/04 12:26:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Back then?
(09/04 12:26:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: The results of the Zero’s activation would keep lingering
(09/04 12:26:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: To the point that people would discourage people from pellet production!
(09/04 12:26:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: “They don’t do anything.”
(09/04 12:26:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Get a life.”
(09/04 12:26:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things like that
(09/04 12:27:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Those still persist to today
(09/04 12:27:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: Albeit slightly less now,
(09/04 12:27:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: I still come across people who call me a geek for spending lots of time in Er’cana
(09/04 12:27:33) DimensionTravelerCalum shrugs
(09/04 12:27:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: but what can you do?
(09/04 12:27:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Er’cana is a chance for light,
(09/04 12:27:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: To revive the lake.
(09/04 12:28:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: When it was written
(09/04 12:28:04) Samoth: I have dropped more than 1.000.000 points…
(09/04 12:28:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a harvest age for the Guild of caterers.
(09/04 12:28:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: Then, Guild Master Kadish bought the age
(09/04 12:28:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: And made it into pellet production
(09/04 12:28:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: You see, even before the fall of D’ni
(09/04 12:28:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: The lake was dying
(09/04 12:28:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: He made the pellets in er’cana as a chance to prove himself the “Grower”
(09/04 12:28:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Ironically,
(09/04 12:29:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: How many years later
(09/04 12:29:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: We’re using his technology to do just that.
(09/04 12:29:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Bring light to the cavern.”
(09/04 12:29:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: :)
(09/04 12:29:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: I suppose, though
(09/04 12:29:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: i should cover the Watcher’s PUb for a bit
(09/04 12:29:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Pub was another one of Kadish’s attempts at proving himself
(09/04 12:29:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: He claimed
(09/04 12:30:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Only the Grower can access the tree”
(09/04 12:30:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: Of course, he built the puzzle in the first place,
(09/04 12:30:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: The puzzle that lies locked behind a single door
(09/04 12:30:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: We don’t know what condition the puzzle is in, right now
(09/04 12:30:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC never got around to making the door work properly,
(09/04 12:31:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Something else destroyed in the scream half a year before it,
(09/04 12:31:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: I suppose, one of these days,
(09/04 12:31:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC might come down,
(09/04 12:31:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Open the door,
(09/04 12:31:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Let us play around with it.
(09/04 12:32:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: But, that’s a long time coming.
(09/04 12:32:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Great Tree remains locked, sealed off
(09/04 12:32:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: All we can see of it is a small glimpse from the balcony
(09/04 12:32:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s still a nice view, though.
(09/04 12:32:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: The Watcher’s Pub
(09/04 12:32:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: However,
(09/04 12:33:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Would remain a prominent place in months to come
(09/04 12:33:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Several important events would occur there
(09/04 12:33:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: but, it’s rather empty today
(09/04 12:34:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: i wait for the day when it’s just as populated as the City
(09/04 12:34:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: When we get to see the puzzle in all it’s glory.
(09/04 12:34:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: When we have the Lake lit to it’s former peak of brightness.
(09/04 12:35:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: I’m kind of running out of things to say here, really
(09/04 12:35:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: This week was the shortest
(09/04 12:35:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: Of all others,
(09/04 12:35:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: In terms of things that happened
(09/04 12:35:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s a lighter week
(09/04 12:35:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: especially when remembering what happened before
(09/04 12:35:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: The “Scars” of D’ni.
(09/04 12:36:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: at this time,
(09/04 12:36:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Emotions were high,
(09/04 12:36:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: people dreaded what new thing would happen,
(09/04 12:36:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: And dreaded how it would end up being subverted by some other ;switch throw’
(09/04 12:37:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nothing like that would happen, however,
(09/04 12:37:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: not really.
(09/04 12:37:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: The comming months were tension filled,
(09/04 12:37:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Annd monotonos, excluding those few weeks when things really picked up.
(09/04 12:38:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: You would find people waiting on the surface for the DRC’s next PR week.
(09/04 12:38:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: And so we waited.
(09/04 12:38:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s ironic, in a way,
(09/04 12:38:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: there’s a phrase
(09/04 12:38:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: In Watcher’s Words
(09/04 12:38:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: (read the books, in the Watcher’s sanctuary)
(09/04 12:38:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wait in the Light,
(09/04 12:39:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Weep in the Time of Joy,
(09/04 12:39:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: If I’m remembering these right
(09/04 12:39:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: And the Gathered will be known by their faces of stone.
(09/04 12:39:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: To wait here, and continue on as we have,
(09/04 12:40:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s something to indeed be known for.
(09/04 12:40:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: I’m going to end here,
(09/04 12:40:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Let you get on with your lives
(09/04 12:40:41) Nexi claps his hands
(09/04 12:40:47) Ninaelil claps her hands
(09/04 12:40:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: But please
(09/04 12:40:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: I beg,
(09/04 12:40:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Please do read the Watcher’s Words,
(09/04 12:41:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: Give the Watcher’s pub a visit after HN,
(09/04 12:41:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: That’s all I have to say.
(09/04 12:41:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: shorah, everyone
(09/04 12:41:20) DimensionTravelerCalum bows
(09/04 12:41:23) Ninaelil: Shorah.
(09/04 12:41:24) Olrick140 claps his hands
(09/04 12:41:26) Nexi: Thank you for your time !
(09/04 12:41:28) AlexandraLara claps her hands
(09/04 12:41:30) Nexi cheers
(09/04 12:41:30) Alien claps her hands
(09/04 12:41:31) Ninaelil claps her hands
(09/04 12:41:34) AlexandraLara: Good job, as usual
(09/04 12:41:37) Samoth: again an interesting story, DTC!
(09/04 12:41:40) Samoth claps his hands
(09/04 12:41:40) Alien claps her hands
(09/04 12:41:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Thanks :)
(09/04 12:41:48) Alien claps her hands
(09/04 12:41:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: Thanks everyone.
(09/04 12:42:01) Narameh: it was wonderful
(09/04 12:42:14) …Chat.log stopped.
