(01/06 12:00:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: The log will also be Xros posted to Myst Community
(01/06 12:00:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: And Myst Online
(01/06 12:00:46) Criswell waves hello
(01/06 12:00:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: So if you’re a member of those forums,
(01/06 12:00:57) Alien: show? so there ARE dancing girls then?
(01/06 12:00:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: You can read ’em there!
(01/06 12:00:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: :)
(01/06 12:01:01) iamSylster: oke thanks. i cant stay for the wole event im afraid
(01/06 12:01:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: 3rd:
(01/06 12:01:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s like a historical show, alien
(01/06 12:01:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: You know,
(01/06 12:01:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Like the things on the history chan-
(01/06 12:01:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wait,
(01/06 12:01:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: Never mind
(01/06 12:01:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: I see where you were going with that :33
(01/06 12:01:27) Marein starts to laugh
(01/06 12:01:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: 4th~
(01/06 12:01:39) Waldo B: They got dancing girls on the history channel?
(01/06 12:01:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Would the owner of the “Blue Champeing” go down to the docks?
(01/06 12:02:01) Marein: Hopefully better quality than the history channel, though
(01/06 12:02:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: There’s a sea-monkey trying to correct the spelling of “Champlain” on it,
(01/06 12:02:20) Criswell: Am i double parked?
(01/06 12:02:31) Marein laughs
(01/06 12:02:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: So with all that put aside,
(01/06 12:02:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Welcome to Heritage Night,
(01/06 12:02:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: An event of history that;s not located in written word anywhere in the cavern,
(01/06 12:03:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: And yet the tales spoken here have survived for over a decade now,
(01/06 12:03:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: When I first started Heritage Night, I wasn’t alone,
(01/06 12:03:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a cooperative initiative along side Carl Palmner,
(01/06 12:03:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: Who has since left to go do other things on the surface,
(01/06 12:03:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: I haven’t seen him in years, but i’m sure he’d be glad to see that this little event’s still going on.
(01/06 12:04:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: We started it with a simple purpose
(01/06 12:04:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Retell the history of the restorations”
(01/06 12:04:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: We’d been doing it off and on to single explorers over the course of a year,
(01/06 12:04:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: And he thought,
(01/06 12:04:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Why not make an event out of it?”
(01/06 12:04:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: In the end,
(01/06 12:04:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: We started HN,
(01/06 12:05:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Only six weeks,
(01/06 12:05:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Covering MOUL1,
(01/06 12:05:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: That time period of the Second restoration
(01/06 12:05:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: We didn’t have enough facts to cover the Prologue,
(01/06 12:05:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: not enough logs,
(01/06 12:05:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Not enough data,
(01/06 12:05:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: so a few rounds after he’d left,
(01/06 12:05:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: I finally got it all
(01/06 12:05:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: And so we begin,
(01/06 12:06:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: I’m sure some of you know how Earth began,
(01/06 12:06:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: a book, written by D’ni masters, to escape a dying world,
(01/06 12:06:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: A sun long since past the point of return,
(01/06 12:06:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: A civilization was broken,
(01/06 12:06:48) DimensionTravelerCalum: But it was in that death that many new worlds were born,
(01/06 12:06:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: D’ni– Earth– was one of them.
(01/06 12:07:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: D’ni, in D’ni, means something akin to “New”
(01/06 12:07:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a fresh start for those who came to this Cavern,
(01/06 12:07:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: And for over thousands of years,
(01/06 12:07:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: They lived,
(01/06 12:07:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Grew,
(01/06 12:07:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: laughed, cried, played, and teased,
(01/06 12:07:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: They were just living,
(01/06 12:07:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Just like we do…
(01/06 12:07:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then they fell.
(01/06 12:08:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Pride, Yeesha has described it as a cancer that grew until D’ni could no longer support itself,
(01/06 12:08:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: some choose to believe that verbatim,
(01/06 12:08:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Others look at the facts that we know about the fall,
(01/06 12:08:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: And think otherwise,
(01/06 12:08:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: But one thing was for certain
(01/06 12:08:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: One man brought about the fall of a civilization,
(01/06 12:09:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: Most died,
(01/06 12:09:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Few survived,
(01/06 12:09:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: But those that did, lived,
(01/06 12:09:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Elsewhere,
(01/06 12:09:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s a constant cycle,
(01/06 12:09:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: Living and dying,
(01/06 12:09:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: D’ni seemed to be built upon it.
(01/06 12:09:44) Switcher claps his hands
(01/06 12:09:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: A woman, Anna, had a grand son,
(01/06 12:09:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: Atrus,
(01/06 12:09:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Who in turn had a daughter,
(01/06 12:10:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: That Mystical Yeesha that we all know and love (Or hate)
(01/06 12:10:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: for all of her early life,
(01/06 12:10:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: D’ni was a slumbering cavern,
(01/06 12:10:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: At one point, she, like all of us,
(01/06 12:10:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Heard its call,
(01/06 12:10:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: And down she went,
(01/06 12:10:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: Into the tunnels,
(01/06 12:10:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: Learning and breathing that stale air.
(01/06 12:10:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things we still don’t understand happened,
(01/06 12:10:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: And she set the stage,
(01/06 12:11:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: At the same time,
(01/06 12:11:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Another group,
(01/06 12:11:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: The D’ni Restoration Council,
(01/06 12:11:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: At the time the D’ni Restoration Foundation,
(01/06 12:11:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Came to D’ni
(01/06 12:11:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Seeking to restore it to it’s former glory
(01/06 12:11:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: They too felt the call,
(01/06 12:11:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: A call, a nagging desire,
(01/06 12:11:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: A want to find something hidden,
(01/06 12:12:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: they lived in this cycle too,
(01/06 12:12:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: And one of those DRF men, Elias Zandi,
(01/06 12:12:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Died.
(01/06 12:12:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: he owns the land above D’ni’s entrance
(01/06 12:12:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: The volcano and the cleft,
(01/06 12:12:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: His son,
(01/06 12:12:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Took over ownership,
(01/06 12:12:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: And so whenever someone new comes to D’ni, through that desert
(01/06 12:13:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: Jeff Zandi is there to greet us.
(01/06 12:13:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: and he’s a curious fellow, that Zandi,
(01/06 12:13:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: cryptic in his ways,
(01/06 12:13:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: But still,
(01/06 12:13:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: He’s there for us, if we need him.
(01/06 12:13:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: Elias left his money to the DRF, but the land to Jeff,
(01/06 12:13:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: A curious paradox, as it were,
(01/06 12:14:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRF couldn’t restore D’ni without Zandi’s permission,
(01/06 12:14:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: So as Zandi took his place on the grand stage of it all,
(01/06 12:14:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things began to change,
(01/06 12:14:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: He sided with Yeesha’s quest,
(01/06 12:14:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: To restore D’ni to those who were willing to be there
(01/06 12:15:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Those who heard the call
(01/06 12:15:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC was named such in `997
(01/06 12:15:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: 1997*
(01/06 12:15:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: It consisted of five people
(01/06 12:15:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Dr. Richard Watson,
(01/06 12:15:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Ikuro Kodama
(01/06 12:15:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: Marie Sutherland,
(01/06 12:15:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Victor Laxman
(01/06 12:16:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: And Michael Engberg
(01/06 12:16:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: Watson led it all,
(01/06 12:16:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Laxman was the tech guy,
(01/06 12:16:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: Kodama was a man of few words,
(01/06 12:16:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Engberg was the structural engineer,
(01/06 12:16:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: And Sutherland was the people person
(01/06 12:17:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: In January of 2002, the DRC opened their doors to “Authorized Explorers”
(01/06 12:17:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: Having felt that they’d uncovered and restored enough for it to be publically opened,
(01/06 12:17:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s been likened to a closed beta test,
(01/06 12:17:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: People had to sign NDAs,
(01/06 12:17:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: they couldn’t tell too much about what was happening back then,
(01/06 12:18:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: And that’s part of why Carl and I had such a hard time figuring out what happened back then.
(01/06 12:18:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: Too many secrets,
(01/06 12:18:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: I’d quote Dr Watson’s opening speech, but I’ve already rambled on just a smudge too much to fit it in…
(01/06 12:18:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: But he was hopeful,
(01/06 12:18:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Encouraging,
(01/06 12:18:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: He thought that one day soon, D’ni would be open to everyone.
(01/06 12:18:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: And anyone.
(01/06 12:18:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: “To D’ni!”
(01/06 12:19:03) DimensionTravelerCalum: He ended his little speech,
(01/06 12:19:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: sums it up nicely does it not?
(01/06 12:19:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC had restored some D’ni tech,
(01/06 12:19:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: And gave it to the authorized explorers for testing,
(01/06 12:19:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: After all,
(01/06 12:19:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Some people can come up with *insane* ways of testing things,
(01/06 12:20:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: The main piece of equipment was the KI.
(01/06 12:20:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Which, originally looked and functioned a LOT different from what we have today.
(01/06 12:20:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a lot weirder from what we’re used to,
(01/06 12:20:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: From what I’ve heard,
(01/06 12:20:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: English overlay-ed onto D’ni,
(01/06 12:20:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: Two fonts sometimes conflicting,
(01/06 12:20:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then there were the pictures!
(01/06 12:21:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: Horrible things, what have survived from then
(01/06 12:21:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: Broken, blurry,
(01/06 12:21:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: But it’s history!
(01/06 12:21:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: History in the making,
(01/06 12:21:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: the KI’s even had a audio recording function once,
(01/06 12:21:42) DimensionTravelerCalum: Though I don’t think the DRC ever got that one working,
(01/06 12:21:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: It may have been retooled into the “voice chat” feature people like to use sometimes,
(01/06 12:22:04) DimensionTravelerCalum shrugs
(01/06 12:22:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things were slowly increased in functionality
(01/06 12:22:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: As people learned,
(01/06 12:22:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Tested,
(01/06 12:22:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explored,
(01/06 12:22:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: Douglas Sharper, a man you’ll all become familiar with in short time,
(01/06 12:22:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: Was brought in at one point,
(01/06 12:23:09) DimensionTravelerCalum: And after some time,he became the proud owner of the age of Teledahn
(01/06 12:23:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: he would restore it over the years,
(01/06 12:23:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: And while he’d be given occasional orders by the DRC to make a change here or there,
(01/06 12:23:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: Teledahn was *his* place,
(01/06 12:24:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: quite a man, that sharper,
(01/06 12:24:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was in December of 2002 that something…noteworthy happened.
(01/06 12:24:34) Switcher claps his hands
(01/06 12:24:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: A Restoration Engineer by name of Phil “Phend” Henderson was on a job in Eder Kemo
(01/06 12:24:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Usual survey stuff
(01/06 12:24:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was a Friday, so when he disappeared and nobody saw him for the rest of the weekend,
(01/06 12:25:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: People thought he’d just gone to the surface
(01/06 12:25:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: But come Monday,
(01/06 12:25:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Everyone realized he was gone.
(01/06 12:25:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: Without a trace,
(01/06 12:25:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nobody had seen or heard from him since he went to Kemo for that survey
(01/06 12:25:45) DimensionTravelerCalum: Daily searches were made,
(01/06 12:25:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: But nobody would find him on their own…
(01/06 12:26:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Just as the hunts were to be called off, Laxman noticed that Phil’s KI was online.
(01/06 12:26:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: But before anyone could trace it down,
(01/06 12:26:29) DimensionTravelerCalum: He vanished again.
(01/06 12:26:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: Back to Eder Kemo, everyone went…
(01/06 12:26:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: It appeared a couple of times,
(01/06 12:26:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: Once for a few moments,
(01/06 12:26:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: Then the second time for almost half an hour
(01/06 12:27:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: At first it had seemed that nobody had gotten there the second time,
(01/06 12:27:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: But then an explorer stepped forward
(01/06 12:27:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: They said they’d had a chat with Phil
(01/06 12:27:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: He was okay,
(01/06 12:27:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: but Phil said he wasn’t coming back.
(01/06 12:27:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: The liar,
(01/06 12:27:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: From there the restoration went on rather smoothly,
(01/06 12:28:05) DimensionTravelerCalum: Things were quiet,
(01/06 12:28:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: But in 2003 at some point,
(01/06 12:28:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: The gaming company UbiSoft put in their funding,
(01/06 12:28:41) DimensionTravelerCalum: They were funding it with the purposes of making the restoration open.
(01/06 12:28:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: and so, to many, this is the start of the “Prologue” era,
(01/06 12:28:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nobody had to sign anything,
(01/06 12:29:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: And so information of this time grew a bit more than it had been
(01/06 12:29:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explorers were allowed in, on a certain basis,
(01/06 12:29:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: But all of them were sent by Zandi,
(01/06 12:29:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: The gates were opened,
(01/06 12:30:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: Even though some places, like Ae’gura, were on the public display at the time,
(01/06 12:30:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: They weren’t ‘officially’ opened,
(01/06 12:30:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: On that particular day, the Kahlo pub was still “Off Limits”
(01/06 12:30:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: But some sneaked in,
(01/06 12:31:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC soon found out, but they were only concerned for the Explorer’s safety
(01/06 12:31:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: The building hadn’t yet been confirmed as ‘stable’
(01/06 12:31:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: But soon enough, the building was opened.
(01/06 12:31:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: well,
(01/06 12:31:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: Somewhat.
(01/06 12:31:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: It was still blocked off,
(01/06 12:31:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: But people could sneak past it if they were clever enough,
(01/06 12:32:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper, on the other hand, didn’t like how the DRC were going about things
(01/06 12:32:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: “That’s them. Concerned and official.”
(01/06 12:32:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: “anyone would think they owned this place!” an explorer remarked
(01/06 12:32:36) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Well,” Sharper replied, “They think they do.”
(01/06 12:32:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: He began openly suggesting ignoring the DRC’s rules,
(01/06 12:33:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: But despite his open protest, the DRC gave him a pub to restore,
(01/06 12:33:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: Seeing as they were happy with Teledahn,
(01/06 12:33:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: it was probably done to shut him up.
(01/06 12:33:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: Not that it worked,
(01/06 12:33:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: The pub was in J’Taeri district,
(01/06 12:33:52) DimensionTravelerCalum: What we now call “Watcher’s Pub”
(01/06 12:34:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: its different though
(01/06 12:34:11) DimensionTravelerCalum: the DRC changed it all from how Sharper had it,
(01/06 12:34:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wall colors changed,
(01/06 12:34:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Different banners,
(01/06 12:34:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: Vases were even removed!
(01/06 12:34:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: But even so,
(01/06 12:34:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: That pub…the Great Tree Pub as people came to call it then…
(01/06 12:34:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s a place of history
(01/06 12:35:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: Around the time that sharper was making his protests,
(01/06 12:35:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: An explorer named Zardoz was in Eder Kemo when, out of nowhere, Phil’s KI had activated again
(01/06 12:35:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: Somehow the guy had trapped himself behind the bahro door!
(01/06 12:36:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Zardoz and Phil had a conversation, one that I don’t have any record of its contents on hand at the moment,
(01/06 12:36:26) DimensionTravelerCalum: But it ended with Phil exiting through the door again.
(01/06 12:36:38) DimensionTravelerCalum: Crazy, that’s my opinion of Phil if you ask me.
(01/06 12:36:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Maybe he’d eaten too many mushrooms from Teledahn?
(01/06 12:36:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Who can say.
(01/06 12:37:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: A short time later,
(01/06 12:37:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: Another explorer, MrM3Fan, found Phil again,
(01/06 12:37:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: And combined with Laxman’s efforts,
(01/06 12:37:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: They got Phil to the city.
(01/06 12:37:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Phil was…rather jumpy,
(01/06 12:38:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: he ended up running off, disappearing by turning off his KI somehow,
(01/06 12:38:12) DimensionTravelerCalum: And now…he was loose in the city~
(01/06 12:38:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: All five DRC members were soon searching high and low for him,
(01/06 12:38:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: Phil would make random appearances,
(01/06 12:39:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: Almost daily, it seemed,
(01/06 12:39:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: But he’d always slip away,
(01/06 12:39:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: Sharper continued to protest against the DRC, too.
(01/06 12:39:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: As you might be able to tell….things were not going well for the DRC
(01/06 12:39:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: To add onto it all,
(01/06 12:39:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yeesha was beginning to actively interfere,
(01/06 12:40:07) DimensionTravelerCalum: The new explorers coming down through Zandi had these strange books
(01/06 12:40:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Relto”
(01/06 12:40:14) DimensionTravelerCalum: As it was called,
(01/06 12:40:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: And there were pages,
(01/06 12:40:25) DimensionTravelerCalum: And stones,
(01/06 12:40:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: All of which the DRC could do nothing about!
(01/06 12:40:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: Removed one,
(01/06 12:40:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: And it comes back,
(01/06 12:40:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: hide it away,
(01/06 12:40:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’ll link back,
(01/06 12:41:17) DimensionTravelerCalum: the stones and the pages…
(01/06 12:41:30) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC didn’t like that explorers could get to ‘unauthorized’ places
(01/06 12:41:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: Places like Kadish Tolesa,
(01/06 12:41:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Places like Gahreesen’s exterior,
(01/06 12:41:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: Eder Gira,
(01/06 12:41:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: was another place,
(01/06 12:41:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: Filled with lava!
(01/06 12:42:08) DimensionTravelerCalum: How were explorers getting around?
(01/06 12:42:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: And then add into the mix these strange cloths that had hands on them~
(01/06 12:42:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: The mysterious Bahro doors too…
(01/06 12:42:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: Someone once removed a cloth,
(01/06 12:42:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: It made a horrid sound as it was torn from the wall, according to the note attached to the cloth,
(01/06 12:42:55) DimensionTravelerCalum: And some time later,
(01/06 12:43:04) DimensionTravelerCalum: The cloth simply *reformed* on the wall
(01/06 12:43:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: Magic! people cried
(01/06 12:43:23) DimensionTravelerCalum: The DRC didn’t like it,
(01/06 12:43:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: But despite their efforts,
(01/06 12:43:31) DimensionTravelerCalum: They couldn’t do much at all.
(01/06 12:43:44) DimensionTravelerCalum: Explorers were beginning to grow tired of the DRC’s constant ‘safety’ rabble
(01/06 12:43:50) DimensionTravelerCalum: Mostly stirred up by sharper,
(01/06 12:43:54) DimensionTravelerCalum: Or confused by Phil
(01/06 12:43:56) DimensionTravelerCalum: In the end,
(01/06 12:44:00) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nobody was ever right,
(01/06 12:44:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: There aren’t *sides*
(01/06 12:44:16) DimensionTravelerCalum: Yeesha had been planting that seed of doubt,
(01/06 12:44:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: Of having to choose sides,
(01/06 12:44:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: When those of us who finished her journey were given a shirt
(01/06 12:44:34) DimensionTravelerCalum: And told to wear it when sides were taken,
(01/06 12:44:39) DimensionTravelerCalum: But there aren’t SIDES.
(01/06 12:44:43) DimensionTravelerCalum: no,
(01/06 12:44:53) DimensionTravelerCalum: Looking back at it all, i can see that plainly,
(01/06 12:44:58) DimensionTravelerCalum: There weren’t sides,
(01/06 12:45:01) DimensionTravelerCalum: just people,
(01/06 12:45:10) DimensionTravelerCalum: Wanting to work towards the same goal with different methods
(01/06 12:45:11) Marein tries to cover his shirt
(01/06 12:45:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: people get confused,
(01/06 12:45:21) DimensionTravelerCalum: People get mad,
(01/06 12:45:24) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s in our nature,
(01/06 12:45:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s in the D’ni nature,
(01/06 12:45:33) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s even in the Bahro’s nature,
(01/06 12:45:37) DimensionTravelerCalum: With Freedom comes choice,
(01/06 12:45:46) DimensionTravelerCalum: And with choice comes the illusion of ‘sides’
(01/06 12:45:59) DimensionTravelerCalum: Artificial barriers like those orange saw horses,
(01/06 12:46:19) DimensionTravelerCalum: So what is there to say about this era?
(01/06 12:46:27) DimensionTravelerCalum: Not much, in honestly,
(01/06 12:46:40) DimensionTravelerCalum: The lack of serious information that was written then is a major pain to all historians,
(01/06 12:46:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: Much of the “news” reports I came across in researching this Prologue were…
(01/06 12:47:02) DimensionTravelerCalum: “Hehe, go checkit out!”
(01/06 12:47:13) DimensionTravelerCalum: Or “Hey, I aintsaying. Spoilers!!”
(01/06 12:47:18) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s…
(01/06 12:47:20) DimensionTravelerCalum: Well…
(01/06 12:47:28) DimensionTravelerCalum: It’s a pain to look for facts,
(01/06 12:47:35) DimensionTravelerCalum: But not being able to find them
(01/06 12:47:38) DimensionTravelerCalum shrugs
(01/06 12:47:47) DimensionTravelerCalum: But there’s not much to be done about it.
(01/06 12:47:51) DimensionTravelerCalum: People didn’t understand then,
(01/06 12:48:06) DimensionTravelerCalum: That the events going on then were the roots of all of our troubles.
(01/06 12:48:15) DimensionTravelerCalum: The upcoming collapse,
(01/06 12:48:22) DimensionTravelerCalum: The dangers of forcing sides
(01/06 12:48:32) DimensionTravelerCalum: Nobody understood just yet what was going on,
(01/06 12:48:49) DimensionTravelerCalum: And that’s all there is to say on that matter :/
(01/06 12:48:57) DimensionTravelerCalum: Thus ends Prologue Night A.
